Reflections on NextGen ONE UGM From a Newbie

eMedApps Booth at NextGen ONE UGM 2015

We were excited to unveil our new eMedApps brand at UGM!

Last year was a big year for Health IT. ICD-10, Meaningful Use rule changes and delays, and a continual push for true interoperability with a new glimmer of hope in FHIR standards. It was also a big year for me as I made a jump from the inpatient side of the world to the ambulatory clinic side. It’s been quite a whirlwind of learning as things can be quite different. One of my first chances to be up close with the clients of this new world was at NextGen ONE UGM 2015. And what a great way to be introduced!

The NextGen team does a great job of keeping attendees engaged with good speakers and fun events. (My favorite event was the Sunday night booth crawl because of the relaxed atmosphere and full house). Most importantly, they have engaging sessions that meet the needs of their clients. This year they gave an opportunity for their sponsors to have clients speak to challenges they have faced over the past year and how they were able to overcome it. Don’t you appreciate hearing from someone who has already tried and succeeded at something? It’s authentic and genuine and opened up great dialogue between the groups in attendance.

CEO

Besides the opening night booth crawl, my favorite things about my first UGM meeting were releasing our new brand, meeting the new CEO of NextGen, Rusty Frantz, when he stopped by our client event, and the Decades Bash.

As we plan for 2016, we look forward to this year’s UGM event again with much anticipation. We hope you enjoy this UGM infographic and hope to meet with you this year at many of the regional events NG has planned this year as well as the big bash!
